syncing by way of a PC jack

Anyone ever done this?I have a couple of cameras that have this feature and I'm looking into options.I already have access to an old Nagra 3 and I want to know what it would take to sync it to the Nagra,that is without a crystal.I'm also looking into other options like a mini disc recorder or perhaps one of those recorders that records directly onto a removeable hard drive.

I would like to try the Nagra first as I already have access to that.
